This week’s update is 2 months in the making
We’ve been working hard over the past 2 months to create the fastest loading 3D models in SkyeBrowse. For this major update, we’re introducing rapid 3D model loading, as well as high fidelity interior mapping for Lite/Premium subscribers.
Major Speed Upgrade
When we were training police departments, we noticed that their laptop were running quite hot! It turns out that simultaneously loading millions of points and 8K textures is pretty taxing on a computer. Over the past few months, we’ve been optimizing our 3D rendering engine to make file sizes smaller, which loads points faster for all devices. With this update, you should expect a 40% speed up in loading models, significantly smaller file sizes, and faster animations within the SkyeBrowse viewer. We’ve also added in some improvements to the 3D modeling quality (read more below).
TLDR: All 3D point clouds, textures, and orthos load faster, prettier, and more reliably. Expect a 40% speed up in loading SkyeBrowse models!
Interior Mapping Update
We've made significant strides in our interior mapping technology! With our latest videogram upgrade, SkyeBrowse now stands alone in its ability to process complex interior spaces that traditional photogrammetry simply can't handle. Picture this: while others might need a DJI Avata to capture 800 images for an interior 3D model, our advanced algorithms can achieve superior results with a 5 minute video. This leap forward in efficiency and capability sets a new industry standard for interior mapping.
Now interior maps turn out even better than ever, and Lite/Premium subscribers will be able to process more shaky/blurry videos. The tolerance for interior mapping continues to improve 🚀
